Wholeheartedly agree! The corporate giants are not our friends. They may give you cheaper stuff, but limit your access to many, perhaps better, things. And obviously no personalized service. They are part of what's wrong w our country. They wiil continue to channel our business where they profit most. I support local businesses as much as possible.

Bookshop is the best! I love my indie bookstores but some of them are a drive. Bookshop is the next best thing, so I guess it’s second best, lol.

And actually I recently finished listening to the audiobook of How to Resist Amazon and Why and it really opened my eyes to a lot of Amazon’s business practices in all industries. Not serving us in the long run.

Love the report of your launch, AND this article about indy bookshops. I'm currently in a search. The 'diosesan' bookstore closed at Eastern Shore Chapel because (a) the Diocese quite sending people to it and our own preschool stop using it. Everyone orders on line - we've become so lazy. Somehow I missed the memo about the launch or I'd have been there. SO glad Mikey made it from Tenn. Love and blessings to you....can't wait to read.

SO sad about the diocesan store! Their display was always the best part about Annual Council. Love and blessings back at you!
